શાંતિ એટલી ખરાબ નથી, પણ જ્યાં સુધી હું મારા હાથ તરફ જોઉં છું અને ઉદાસ અનુભવું છું,
કારણ કે મારી આંગળીઓ વચ્ચેની જગ્યા એ જ છે જ્યાં તારી આંગળીઓ બરાબર બંધબેસતી હતી.
હું નવી રીતોથી આરામ શોધી લઈશ, જોકે હું બે દિવસથી ઊંઘ્યો નથી,
કારણ કે ઠંડી યાદો (ઝુરપો) મને અંદરથી ધ્રુજાવી દે છે.
પરંતુ વનીલા જેવી આછો ક્રીમ સંધ્યામાં ભીંજાયેલો, હું આખી રાત આગળના ઓટલા પર બેસી રહીશ,
વિચારોમાં ઊંડો ડૂબેલો, કારણ કે જ્યારે હું તારા વિશે વિચારું છું ત્યારે હું એકલતા અનુભવતો નથી.
હું જેટલી વાર મારી પાંપણો પટપટાવીશ, આખી રાત તારા વિશે જ વિચારીશ, આખી રાત તારા વિશે જ વિચારીશ.
જ્યારે જાંબુડિયા રંગની આંખો વધુ તેજસ્વી થશે,
અને ભારે પાંખો હળવી થશે,
ત્યારે હું આકાશનો સ્વાદ માણીશ અને ફરીથી જીવંત અનુભવીશ.
અને હું એ દુનિયાને ભૂલી જઈશ જે હું જાણતો હતો,
પરંતુ હું સોગંદ ખાઉં છું કે હું તને ક્યારેય નહીં ભૂલું.
ઓહ, જો મારો અવાજ ભૂતકાળ સુધી પાછો પહોંચી શકે,
તો હું તારા કાનમાં ફુસફુસાવીશ:
"ઓહ વહાલી, કાશ તું અહીં હોત!"
