સાથે મળીને આપણે આપણું સ્વપ્ન સાકાર કરી શકીએ છીએ.
પછી આપણે જે કર્યું છે તેનો આનંદ વહેંચીશું, બધા સાથે મળીને ટીમવર્ક કરીએ!
બાસ્કેટબોલને રિંગ (hoop) માંથી ફેંકવાની મજા આવે છે,
પરંતુ જો કોઈ પાસ ન કરે, તો કોઈ શોટ મારી શકતું નથી.
અને રીલે રેસ આગળ વધી શકતી નથી,
જો કોઈ બેટન (લાડી) પાસ કરવા ન માંગતુ હોય.
આપણે એ ભાગો છીએ જે મળીને એક આખું જૂથ બનાવે છે,
અને આપણી નજર એક સામાન્ય લક્ષ્ય પર છે.
કેટેગરીમાં ક્યારેક આ મોટો ફાયદો બની શકે છે,
જ્યારે 'તમે' અથવા 'હું' મળીને 'આપણે' બની જઈએ છીએ!
ધ્યાનચંદને ભારતના હોકીના જાદુગર કહેવામાં આવે છે. તેમની જીતવાની અને દેશભક્તિની ભાવના હંમેશા યાદ રાખવામાં આવે છે.
એકવાર તેમની એડોલ્ફ હિટલર સાથે એક રસપ્રદ મુલાકાત થઈ હતી. ૧૯૩૬ ના ઓલિમ્પિક દરમિયાન એડોલ્ફ હિટલર જર્મનીના તાનાશાહ હતા. હોકીની ફાઇનલ ભારત અને જર્મની વચ્ચે રમાઈ હતી. તે દિવસ ૧૫ ઓગસ્ટ, ૧૯૩૬ હતો.
જર્મનો જીતવા માંગતા હતા. તેમણે ભારતીય ટીમના કેપ્ટન ધ્યાનચંદને ઇજાગ્રસ્ત પણ કર્યા. તેઓ એટલી રફ (હિંસક) રમત રમ્યા કે ધ્યાનચંદે પોતાના કેટલાક દાંત ગુમાવ્યા. પણ તેમણે હાર ન માની. તેઓ બહાદુરીથી રમતા રહ્યા. તેમણે પોતાના ફેન્સી બૂટ પણ બદલી નાખ્યા અને સાદા બૂટ પહેરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. આશ્ચર્યજનક રીતે, તેમણે ઝટપટ ત્રણ ગોલ કર્યા અને ભારતે મેચ જીતી લીધી. અંતિમ સ્કોર ભારત ૮, જર્મની ૧ હતો.
એડોલ્ફ હિટલર સ્ટેડિયમમાં હતા પણ મેચ પૂરી થાય તે પહેલાં વહેલા નીકળી ગયા. મેચ પછી ખેલાડીઓના એક મેળાવડામાં તેઓ ધ્યાનચંદને મળ્યા.
ધ્યાનચંદે આ મુલાકાત વિશે વાત કરી. હિટલરે કહ્યું, "તમે એક મહાન ખેલાડી છો. પણ તમારો દેશ તમારી કદર કરતો નથી. આવો અને જર્મની માટે રમો. હું તમને મારી સેનામાં ઉચ્ચ હોદ્દો પણ આપીશ."
આના જવાબમાં ધ્યાનચંદે કહ્યું, "હું ભારતીય છું અને ભારત મારું ઘર છે. હું મારા પોતાના લોકો વચ્ચે એક સાદો સૈનિક બનીને ખુશ છું."
ભારત પ્રત્યે આ સાદા દેશભક્તનો આવો પ્રેમ હતો!
પ્રભાત ૧૨ વર્ષનો હતો. તેને રમતો ગમતી હતી પણ તેને એક સમસ્યા હતી. તે હાર સ્વીકારી શકતો ન હતો. જ્યારે તે હારી જતો, ત્યારે તે ખૂબ દુઃખી અને ગુસ્સે થઈ જતો. ભલે તે લખોટીઓ જ કેમ ન રમતો હોય, તેણે તો જીતવું જ પડતું. જ્યારે તે જીતતો ત્યારે તેને ખૂબ સારું લાગતું. તે એ લાગણી છોડવા માંગતો ન હતો. તે માનતો હતો કે હારી જવું એ સૌથી ખરાબ બાબત છે. તેના બધા મિત્રો અને માતા-પિતા આ વિશે જાણતા હતા.
પ્રભાત રમતમાં ત્યારે જ ભાગ લેતો જ્યારે તેને જીતવાની ખાતરી હોય. બેડમિન્ટન એવી રમત હતી જેમાં તે હોશિયાર હતો. તેથી, તે ક્યારેય બેડમિન્ટન મેચ ચૂક્તો ન હતો. કોચ દર મહિનાના છેલ્લા શુક્રવારે ફ્રેન્ડલી મેચ યોજતા. પ્રભાત આ મેચોની આતુરતાથી રાહ જોતો હતો.
એક દિવસ, પ્રભાતની શાળામાં એક નવો વિદ્યાર્થી આવ્યો. તેનું નામ સૂર્યા હતું. સૂર્યા પણ બેડમિન્ટનનો ઉત્કૃષ્ટ ખેલાડી હતો. તેથી, ટૂંક સમયમાં જ પ્રભાત અને સૂર્યાને ફ્રેન્ડલી મેચ દરમિયાન એકબીજા સામે રાઉન્ડ રમવા માટે પસંદ કરવામાં આવ્યા. પ્રભાતના મિત્રે તેમની મેચનો સ્કોર રાખવાનો હતો.
પ્રભાતે મેચ માટે ખૂબ જ ગંભીરતાથી તૈયારી કરી. બીજી તરફ સૂર્યા શાંત (સહજ) હતો. તે આખો સમય હસતો અને જોક્સ કહેતો ફાફડા મારતો હતો. પરંતુ શુક્રવારે, બેડમિન્ટન કોર્ટ પર, તે અદ્ભુત રમ્યો. તેણે વારંવાર પોઈન્ટ જીત્યા. પ્રભાત ડરી ગયો. તેને લાગ્યું કે તે હારી જશે.
તેણે એક ચતુર ચાલાકી વિચારી. જ્યારે તેને લાગ્યું કે કોઈ જોઈ રહ્યું નથી, ત્યારે તેણે તેના મિત્રને તેના પક્ષમાં સ્કોર બદલવાનો ઈશારો કર્યો. જ્યારે મેચ પૂરી થઈ, ત્યારે પ્રભાતનો સ્કોર સૂર્યા કરતા વધુ પોઈન્ટ બતાવતો હતો. સૂર્યાએ રમતદિલી બતાવી અને પ્રભાતને શુભેચ્છા પાઠવી.
પ્રભાત ખુશ થઈ ગયો. તેને લાગ્યું કે તેણે બધાને છેતર્યા છે. પરંતુ એવોર્ડ સમારોહ પહેલાં, પ્રિન્સિપાલે તેને બોલાવ્યો. તેના વર્ગશિક્ષક તસ્નીમબેને તેના મિત્રને સ્કોર બદલતા જોઈ લીધો હતો. તેઓ ઇચ્છતા હતા કે તેને તેની ભૂલનો અહેસાસ થાય, તેથી તેમણે કોચને જાણ કરી.
કોચે પ્રભાતને મેચમાંથી અયોગ્ય (disqualify) જાહેર કર્યો. તેને છ મહિના માટે બેડમિન્ટનમાંથી સસ્પેન્ડ કરવામાં આવ્યો. તેને તેની ભૂલનો અહેસાસ થયો. જો તે પ્રામાણિક હોત, તો તે બીજા દિવસે જીતી શક્યો હોત. હવે, તે સૂર્યાને રમતો ફક્ત જોઈ જ શકતો હતો.
